Ingredients
3 cups milk (or dairy-free, such as almond milk of your choice)
2 tablespoons lemon juice: Freshly squeezed lemon juice lends a bright pop of citrus flavor.
½ teaspoon ground turmeric or grate about 1 ½ teaspoons of fresh turmeric root.
2 teaspoons honey: For a hint of sweetness. If you prefer, you can use maple syrup instead of honey.
Black Pepper: Just a pinch of black pepper helps your body absorb the curcumin from the turmeric.
Add a sprinkle of cinnamon, nutmeg or ground cloves for a toasty spice flavor.
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper and pinch of sea salt
A half to one vanilla pod mashed into a paste
Golden milk Turmeric Latte
A delicious Turmeric Latte full of vitamins! Made with fresh spices like turmeric and ginger and nutmeg, cinnamon, black pepper and vanilla for a delicious and creamy latte!
Step by step recipe
01
- Add the milk, (you can also mix water if you want a less frothy drink), syrup, ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper, vanilla and salt to a blender or food processor. Process until completely smooth. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer to catch any shreds from the ginger and extra spices. You may repeat this so it’s extra smooth.
02
- Taste and adjust spices or sweetener if required. If you didn’t weigh the fresh turmeric then you may need to add more to reach the bright yellow color. Add to taste according to your preference.
03
- Pour the mixture into a small pot over medium-low heat and simmer gently for a few minutes just until heated through. You do not want to thicken it or boil it, just heat it through. Strain for a smooth texture and serve.
